Service or Tactical?
Howdy.
Since I've religated my old bush gun (A Ruger P-89D) to truck pistol duty, I've been looking into a .45ACP to replace it, for when I'm out beboping around in the woods and such. The 9mm +P's just seem a little light should I happen on something that goes bump in the night. As it stands, it's pretty much narrowed down to an XD-45, in either it's 4" or 5" forms. I've heard some stuff about the 4" models scorching the top of TRL-2's; does this happen with the 5" model too? And also, anybody know a good thigh holster for these when you have a light mounted on them? Particularly the 5" one. |

I'd go with a tactical hands down.
As for holsters, check with blade tech, and before buying a light make sure they make the holster for that gun/light combo.

I love my Service model. But as with cars and women to each his own. if you can find some one who owns both and try 'em out.

The tactical pretty much shoots itself, you just hold it and chew out the X ring.

My buddy has a Tactical and I have the Service. We both shoot better with the Service. Not saying the Service is better, just my Service is better then his Tactical.

I bought TWO XD45's I loved them so much. Like a spare tire, I decided on a spare gun. Springer is on the road but will be back on the 17th. Both go in for the Combat/Carry trigger job when he gets back.

If it doesn't have to be concealed, get the TAC. Very accurate & alittle increase in vel. doesn't hurt the 45acp.

Tac is the one. 5" barrel gives a little more velocity wise from what I understand
I could be wrong...But you can't go wrong with the 13 rounds and 5" barrel.. |

+1 for the Tactical if you don't mind the longer barrel.
