Unhappy Trijicons sitting high on my 45c

I had Trijicon SP01's installed on my XD45c today. This is the sight set designated specifically for the XD's. I love Trijicon Night Sights and I'm glad to have them on my XD for sure.

But, there is a pretty large gap between the bodies of both sights and the slide. As in, the main parts of both the front and back sights sit much further above the slide than I've ever seen from any sight before.

Let me show you:

I guess this is normal, as I doubt this could be a manufacturing defect, but it seems odd to me.

A) Does everyone else using Trijicon Night Sights have this gap (especially odd looking on the front sight blade)?

B) Why doesn't Trijicon bring this down and make the sight bodies nearer to flush with the slide?

The old trijicons don't sit that high, for what that is worth. They are flush to the slide.

Done. I have contacted them via the "Contact" form on the Trijicon website, and will send the pictures when they respond via email.

My issue is not regarding the aesthetics of the sights. My issue is that the gap seems extreme, and I'm concerned that they are defective or mis-packaged. In either of those cases, I want the correct sights because I paid $100 for them and I deserve the correct product. I've never seen sights sitting so high, but if this is by design, I will happily move on!

Looks normal to me... I don't know of any night sights that sit flush. Has to be some kind of gap to avoid scratching the hell out of the gun when installing them.

I don't know of any that sit flush either, but I've never seen any that sit this high before, is all. It's a large enough gap to be a snag issue, for sure, not that I'm worried about that, personally.

The stock sights definitely didn't sit even close to this high up.
