The OP problem with his XD sounds much like what my XD-45 service did with light target semi-wadcutter loads. I have never heard of anybody limp wristing an xd-45, might happen but I have not heard of it yet. Also wondering if the OP has rem/umc ammo ? my gunsmith told me he has seen multiple cases where rem umc ammo was too lightly loaded, causing the customer to think his gun needed work....rem umc 9x19 is too wimpy to properly work my P1/P38. I was using Winchester 230GR FMJ from Walmart. I let a more experienced shooter go through a few mags with it and he had the same problems that I did. I think I'm going to go buy a new magazine and different ammo from the local gun shop and give it one more try before I send it off. I'll report back.
Thanks, Jesse |

ran into this problem when my firing pin retaining pin came loose allowing the firing pin to come too far forward. this crushes the striker damper spring too much preventing the firing pin from retracting all the way.
two ways to see if this is your problem: see if the pin came out of the top of the slide (look it up on the drawing in your manual or on springfieldarmory.com) OR cycle the slide to see if the firing pin retracts after each pull of the trigger (have to dry fire with empty chamber between each slide rack) spare parts? pistol gear has em: pins: http://www.pistolgear.com/proddetail.php?prod=00PGB call him up and he can point you in the right direction for the springs.

Weird, I went to go shoot the SKS and an AK at my friends house so I grabbed the XD also. I only shot 27 rounds of Hyrda Shok but it feed flawlessly. I guess it was some bad WWB and not the pistol? I was using the same magazines and I didn't even clean them since the last use.
