I have an SWR HEMS (High Efficiency Maritime Suppressor). Fired wet (SWR says water is fine) on my HK USP Compact .45 it it sounded about as loud as my Ruger mk II firing Aquilla powderless subsonic .22lr (that is, powered by primer only, no gunpowder). Both of those 'feel' more quiet than the staple gun I use to put up targets.
I have since fallen in love with the XD and SWR is converting my HEMS so I may mount it to an EFK Firedragon barrel. I should have everything together in about a month. Also, if you are interested in suppressors do yourself a favor and go to Silencer Talk. Some of the lead designers, engineers, and customer service folk for the best suppressor manufacturers are members of that board. |
