Guide Rod Breakage who's had problems
My buddy went to TDI’s advanced handgun course. They were down on the XD’s because of the constant breakage of the guide rods. They recommended a solid rod to replace factory rod assembly. How prevalent is this problem? And why can’t I find a solid rod for the 4” Service Model .45 ACP?

I have never broke one, but I bought the solid rod so that it never will. Like a preventative measure.

This has not happened to me, should I be concerned or is it like impotence -- if you don't know it can happen, don't worry about it?!

I hadn't heard much about it but disliked the "cheap" ho0llow rod, it just doesn't look like it will take much abuse. I bought a Wolff solid rod & spring.

Original question was for a 4" 45ACP Service Model.
All the links provided so far have had nothing to do with a 4" 45. Don has yet to perfect his DGR. Anything else out there, as I'm curious as well

Don verified in another thread that the guide rod is not the issue. The springs are not consistent enough. Sorry for the bad link. The Canyon Creek rods were there before.
