I have carried an XD in various models and calibers for 4 years. I recently added a G21SF to my collection. Here are some pics for visual comparison. I'll also offer some direct comparisons as I go along.
![]() XD45 is 1/4 inch longer top of slide to bottom of mag. G21SF is 1/2 longer front to back. ![]() XD45 weighs 29.8 ounces with an empty mag; G21SF weighs 29.4 ounces. ![]() G21SF has a 1/4 inch lower bore axis than the XD45 ![]() Believe it or not, both pistols measure 1.2 inches in width. For those hair splitters out there the XD45 measures 1.236 and the G21SF measures 1.237 inches wide. The G21SF grip is 2.4 inches front to back and the XD45 is 2.2 inches. The G21SF measures 2.3 inches deep from the backstrap to the inside back of the trigger guard. The XD45 measures 2.15 inches same distance. The G21SF is the same width as the XD45 but has a chunkier grip. The G21SF will soon be sporting XS Big Dots as well....gotta love those. Hope you enjoyed the pics. Carry safe and God bless!

Wow, the in-cut along the top of the XD slide makes it look thinner. I'll bet that the metal removed there is what almost makes up for the metal trigger and other metal parts that are plasitc on GLOCKs. And the metal grip safety. Sweet.

wow! the one on the left looks real nice, but why would you even compare it to that cheap looking piece of manure on the right???

Shorty, great dimensional comparisons but isn't the Glock more in line with the XD Tac? Well on second thought, I guess the only difference there would be the length. Nice pics, BTW.

The top of the XD slide is indeed slimmer than the Glock, but then the slide widens and they are identical in width.
I have carried XD's for 4 years and this XD45 since it came out. I have Springers excellent combat trigger job, action job and polished feed ramp. It runs great and points great. The only upside to the Glock that I see are the availability of everything. Also, the longer, heavier slide seems to have less muzzle flip; IMO. Also, while the Glock stock trigger is heavier than my Springer trigger, the reset is just as short if not shorter. I am going to put XS Big Dots on the Glock and give it a try. One of them will have to go unfortunately.

The 21SF and the XD-45 Service were the finalist in my choice for a new gun.I ended up buying the Springfield because I wanted to try something different. I have owned Glocks since they were first sold in the US and still think they are great guns. I am glad I choose the XD...but am thinking of a Glock 30 or 36 next.

Again, nothing against the Glocks, they are great guns for the most part. I just feel that the XD is even better... Cheers! M2
