Cool Dang, range fees have gone through the roof!!!

Went to the Bullet Hole, our local indoor range yesterday, and paid $510 for a few minutes on the range--$10 for range time and $500 for a new XD45 4" Compact package!!!

Yup, the boys at the BH made it too easy--$500 and they threw in a box of range ammo.

Can't wait to get my new toy cleaned up and range-ready. I was torn between a 1911m and the XD45 Compact, and then when I sat down and thought about it, I realized that I really needed a "working" pistol and not another show gun--nothing against the 1911--I love them; but the 7+1 versus high-cap mags with the XD won me over.

Yee haw!

You won't regret your choice. I have a 9mm service, 40 service, and 45 compact all in XD. My favorite far and away is the 45. The 45 is just a bit more expensive to shoot. Thank goodness for my love of reloading.

XD-45ACP Compact

I have only had my XD-45ACP Compact for approximately 3 months and I am in love. I have not had a FTE and I go to the range 3 times a week and shoot 100 rounds of ammo each time. So for approximately 3500 rounds I have not had a FTE. The accuracy is very good and I am using standard sights. This is my first handgun and I am already thinking of buying a 9mm XD SC. Enjoy your new weapon and have fun at the range.

Oh, it shoots fantastically too . . .

Well, I'm getting closer to getting to shoot my new XD-45 Tactical. I bought it on the way to work a week and a half ago. I work offshore and I can't wait to head to the range on the way home to put a few through it. I found a Wal-Mart that has some Blaser Brass for 11.82 a box and I plan on getting all they have.

Congrats on the new XD!!

That's a fine weapon. In fact, I've got one just like it sitting on my hip as I type this.

And I can sympathize with the range time expense... Last week my wife spent 10 minutes on the range with a rented HK9 USP... cost me almost 800 bucks

That's ok though.... since she got the last new gun... and it's the most expensive one in the house.... it's my turn next!!!

Range fees have gone up, but my favorite is "You must only use the ammo we sell here, and you must buy here today what you shoot here today. You cannot bring in ammo that you bought here last week and shoot it this week." Then, they have the gall to say that their ammo costs the same as WalMart, which at $14/50 rounds is total BS. I know they are worried about the longevity of their bullet trap, but don't tell me what ammo costs somewhere else. I know what it costs, and their crap dirty ammo is more expensive than what I would prefer to shoot.

I gotta figure out how to post up pics here--my new XD45 Compact looks awesome all cuddled up with his little brother (my XD9 Service).
