CCW Holster

What in You're Opinion would be the best Concealed Carry Holster for wearing in all seasons?

There is no one holster that is best for everyone in all seasons. Why would you even ask a question like this??

I can't help you with direct experience - yet - but it seems to me that a carefully chosen IWB would serve as the most universal for all year carry.

I just bought this but it will be several weeks before I get it:

http://www.highnoonholsters.com/Prod...er_w_clip.html

I ordered mine in horsehide because it is supposedly more impervious to moisture than cowhide. I also gravitate to leather by nature altough I'm sure some synthetic materials work well. I also chose the clip over the straps because I wear black belts almost exclusively. I doubt though, that I will have it in time to review it to help your choice. This holster gets great reviews for comfort and function though.

Then by suggestion from a member here and since I'm a newbie, I bought this cheap IWB to wear at home to get used to wearing an IWB holster in general:

http://www.511tacticaloutdoors.com/gastinpaho.html

I won't have my CCW until sometime around November so I'm going to just "practice" with this cheap Galco at home for now and who knows, maybe this will end up being a usable holster too but I can't see it being better than the High Noon just by the virtue of the build method and materials. Check out the other pictures on the link for a good view. I think this holster would also work in my truck door quite well by simply clipping the belt clip over the edge of the door well with the holster inside the well. I already keep my XD there now inside a towel because in Nevada you can carry a loaded and concealed weapon in your car without a CCW as long as it's not concealed in the glove compartment, a purse or on your body somewhere.

For the record, I already have a Galco Fletch for open carry while fishing and such but the fact is, it is pretty concealable itself wearing it at 4 o'clock with a loose, untucked tee shirt.
So even though I'm no expert my own research has concluded that a well chosen IWB is the most versatile - for me. Good luck.

i recommend starting with a don hume 715M open top IWB holster. about 30 bucks new. then you will figure out what you don't like about it. while you are figuring it is comfortable enough to get you buy and conceals well enough not to print.

that is if you think you like leather, if you are a kydex man, it is a whole 'nutha ball game.

An IWB holster does completely conceal the holster from the beltline down but any portion of the gun above that line still needs to be covered. A tuckable IWB holster can completely conceal the gun from view but they are not usually available for all models of concealment guns.

An on-the-belt (OWB) holster is much easier to become accustomed to when a person first begins to carry concealed on a fulltime basis and is not significantly harder to conceal than a conventional IWB holster. A good and properly designed OWB holster will carry high and tight and it is a good place to start.
