Smile 400 Corbon

I am trying to figure out what this round is similar to for a comparison. I think this round is similar to 10mm, but I am not sure. Is this a round worth me investing time in researching? Is this round completely different than the 40 S&W? Any information pertaining to this round is appreciated.

It's a 45ACP case necked down to a 40SW bullet.

I'd assume it's like a hotter 10mm but I don't know.

Like others said its a 45 acp necked down to a 40 caliber bullet. I had a Sig 220 converted to it for a while. It never did feed well. It is not as powerful as the 10mm. It can't handle bullets heavier than 165 grains. Its not that great of a round so I dropped it.

They don't feed well from double-stack mags. They aren't as hot as 10mm. They don't have much neck surface bearing area, so setbacks are problematic. They can handle bullets as heavy as 180gr.

They don't feed well from single stack mags either at least in my experience and the heaviest bullet recommended for use was 165.

The reason the heaviest bullet recommended was so the .400 Cor-Bon @ 180gr. wouldn't compete with the Cor-Bon's .45ACP 185gr. +p rounds. I discussed this very subject with Peter Pi, Mr. Cor-Bon hisself, and he said, "of course, you can load 180gr. bullets!"
