Is this going to be on a target or defensive pistol ?

I have them on my G26 backup gun. Great for fast sight alignment for up close and personal shots

I used to have them on my pistol. They are good for close range, but less so for distance shots.

I liked them until I learned how to transition from unsighted fire to sighted fire.

I tried them on a Dan Wesson 1911 I bought a few years back. I hated them for target shooting. I am not a fan.

It's an adaptation of the english express site for a rifle. They are fast to aquire but not as accurate as the issue sight IMO.

I have them on one of my Sig's. They are great for someone that does not shoto alot but at defensive distances that most shooting accur, I think regular tritium sights are more than sufficient.

I have them on my Glock 27 and love them (I have the Big Dot model). I just ordered a set for my XD-45c and can't wait to to install them. Out to 15 yards or so (most worst case scenarios occur at far less distance), I am more accurate with the XS Big Dots than I am with conventional sights - Trijicon, Meprolight, TruGlo, etc. I am sold on these things for close and upfront encounters of the worst kind.

Here they are on a Glock - I'll post a pic of them on my XD after I do the instal.

I had the big dot on my 45C and went back to the XD sights. I tried for a couple of months, but beyond 7 yards or so I was all over the place. The issue sights work fine for me. Sometimes, "if it works don't fix it" is true. On the other hand, I love the Canyon Creek trigger job I had done. Good luck! Doc

Well sometimes you just have to eat crow. And expensive crow at that. I installed the XS Big Dots on my XD45 compact and knew immediately afterwards that it was a mistake. The longer sight radius of the XD45 compared to my Glock 27 just didn't "feel" or look right with the XS Big Dot. The front sight was not as sharp as it appears on my Glock 27 (I wear variable focus eyeglasses) and it required more bending of the head to get that "sweet spot" although the Big Dot overall was fast to pick up. And then I thought while the Glock 27 was designed for up close and personal work (but no tack driver) my XD45 is extremely accurate out to 20 yards or so and I shoot it better than many of my other guns. Why not get the best out of it by putting on a really good set of conventional sights? Credit card in hand, I ordered and installed a set of Heinie Slant Pro Straight 8's with the optional .140 wide notch rear. These are Tritium sights and they are excellent (I have the same set on my Glock 23), quick sight acquisition, and I was knocking out the center ring at the range today like nobody's business. Long story made short, the Big Dots are perfect for my little Glock 27 but the Heine's rule on my larger XD-45c. And the new MGW sight pusher for the XD made things very easy. Here they are:

Sure would be nice if the OP would post again and let us know what is going on. For a short barreled defensive pistol such as the XDSC or sub compact Glocks, these sights are just about perfect.
