Slide stop lever -hard to release for 45ACP compact
Guys, I just bought an XD-45ACP compact and it really takes a hard time to release the lever. Once you insert an empty magazine and pull the slide ,when it locks in open position then I remove the empty magazine .Then it takes more pressure to release the slide stop lever.Any comments Guys...

It is a "Slide Stop", and not a "Slide Release". Good idea to get into the habit of racking the slide. (I recently read an extensive thread elsewhere on this subject.) MW

+1 not a slide release.

pull back slightly on the slide and thumb down the lever if you want to drop the slide with an empty mag in it. With a full mag, pull slide back and let it fly.

Just don't "let it fly" on an empty chamber. Not good on parts.
At least that's what I have been told by folks with more knowledge than me

+1 - it'll loosen up after a while.
(and if you're lefty, it's fairly useless, so get into the habit of racking it, as suggested above)

After you have fired a few hundred rounds out of the gun, it will loosen up. You may want to put a small dab of lubricant in the notch that the slide stop catches also.
