That is a tempting wish but when I was trying out other pistols before settling on my XD45 it was exactly those finger grooves on the Glock that made it not fit me right. I felt like my fingers wanted to be on top of the grooves rather than in them when I let my hand naturally grip the gun

Sheeesh, tell me about it... I just purchased a Hogue yesterday and while it feels fine, it's already starting to tear from the grip safety. There goes $12.

Judging from pictures alone, I never did like the look of these grips on the clean lines XD's, but in person it (the Hogue at least) looks mafia hot!

Liquid Rhino,
Over the years, I discovered that you must cut smoothly, with NO nicks or jagged cut edges, or it will begin to tear.
I cut mine to fit under the safety, and around the grip at that height, so it is a smooth, even top, providing no place for it to begin ripping or tearing. Again, cuticle scissors are very precise, and hairspray helps to get it on, and when dry, helps to prevent slippage.
MW
PS: it does look wicked hot!

The large fits the 45 great. I had to trim a bit for the compact

I too was told to take it off my pistol when I took a class at FAS (firearms academy seattle). They told me that if I took them off that my groupings would get better. Sure enough, they did. Although the gun doesn't feel as full in my hand, I shoot better.
