i had some problems with the mag not pushing up hard enough. i know alot of people say it doesnt hurt the mag to keep it loaded but the mag i did had problems and the mag i didnt has had no problems. if you streach out the spring every once and a while it solves the problem

Function and reliability are 100%! Fell in love with it right away even without ever firing an XD45. Bought it because of how well the XD40 and XD9 shoot.

Unlike my 1911, it fed everything (185gr TC factory, 230gr RN factory and 230gr RN lead cast) right out of the box. My 1911 took 300 rounds before it broke in and started to feed everything I put in her.

Did have one issue with the rear sight (shooting low) but as seen on another thread, Springfield quickly resolved that by sending a higher sight. Had one ammo issue with a squib with CCI Blazer. Had some failure to feed with Cast SWC until I figured out the secret on how to get them to feed reliably.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this gun, IF you reload or can afford to feed her. Would I buy another? YES, but only if she breaks plastic parts and needs replacing but I WOULD buy another in another caliber (9mm).

I've had a few issues with the slide locking back in the middle of a magazine. It could be just me hitting the slide lock, but a friend of mine had it lock on him as well. It seems fine so far.

With the exception of the slide not locking back when empty which was probably my thumb, no problems at all with 3 XDs. The first two M&Ps; nothing but problems. I've had minor problems with Glocks but nothing major. The XD is a very well built gun and quality control appears to be very good.

Zero issues with the XD (probably only around 3000-4000 rounds so far). Zero issues with any of my guns, including a S&W 629, Kimber Custom II (over 12,000 rounds, only changes I made were substituting the standard recoil plug and cap, and 18.5lb spring immediately after purchase), two Rock River AR's, Garand, Carbine, M1903, Beretta NEOS, Colt Army Special .38 from like 1919, and a cheap Winchester pellet rifle, with the exception of a Gamo CO2 pistol (POS, never buy one) and a Remington 11-87 shotgun, that double feeds, ftf's, and just drives me nuts. Works gredat on the trap range, but switch to the 20" barrel and slugs and it's a nightmare. Oldest gun company in the USA and they can't make their flagship work right. Never again. And their customer service can't hold a candle to Springfield Armory. In fact, there is no customer service at Remington, they send you to a local gunsmith who may or may not be any good (not any good in my case as well as a friends).
