Trijicons
The label on the Trijicon night sights I ordered from Pistol Gear says:
"SIG 9mm/40 & Springfield XD Sight Set" Will these work on my XD45? They look like they're shorter than the stock sights. I went with the Trijicons, first, because of quality; second, because I saw other sight sets that specifically said "not to be used with the 45." |

i'm gonna cut/paste my reply to another trijicon post below...hope it answers your question and saves me some typing:
the trijcon SG01 fit and worked on both my XD9 tac and .45 XDC. i did talk to trijicon and they said that SA asks them to put the SG01 (SIG) on their guns for a factory SA night sight setup. i made a mistake and posted on here about the rear sights not being identical to the orig SA rears, but it actually was an advantage b/c the well/gap was about 40thousands wider in the rear sights and giving old eyes a better sight picture to find the sides of the front blade in daylight. They are fine and are fine on the .45 as well as the 9mm tac. there are 'tic' marks / alignment marks in the dove tail and in the front blade channel that SA mills into the slides and are good alignment marks for replacing sights. Trijicon did not align my XD9 rear up true to the marks and i sent it back, but have since gotten the pistol back and it shoots GREAT now. Trijicon stood by their work and they may be making another set of sights for the XDs and may have upgraded their web site (a month or 2 back their site did not even link to SA pistols, so they may have been doing some upgrading, it would link to SA guns and to the Sig SG01 sights for XDs 4 months ago...so, dont' know what was up with that). i hope my errant raising hell at trijicon did not force them to produce another set closer to the exact orig SA XD sights...like i said, the slight difference in their SIG SG01 and XD orig actually was to my advantage. |

Thanks. I appreciate the response (and the legwork you did in the past to get the info). I just wasn't sure if the shorter height would affect accuracy or make me have to change my sight picture or point of aim.

you are welcome, but i still feel bad about posting an error on this forum.
other posts i've said, that i coudl out shoot my xd9 tac with my .45xdc, but once i got that xd9 back from trijicon when they 'trued' it up, it really shot consistent. before i was all over the place w/the xd9 and even wonderd about the diff springs. it wsa more than likely just not enough rounds down range. i doubt you would have to make much, if any, sight picture adjustments once you get them. man, those trijicon show up nice at night and very low level light. i shoot old school front blade edge to left/right verticle of the rear adn do not use the 3 dot system, but at night, man, they are nice...or even in my house low low light they shine. |
