Throughout my 31 years as an LEO I noticed that bad guys tend to really get jittery when someone is pointing a bright, shiny gun at them. Most times the display of a pistol that a perp knows is a pistol is enough to give him pause. Now as a civilian if I ever have to point a pistol at someone I want to make sure they see it. I therefore prefer a two tone pistol over a flat black one.

Pretty guns dont shoot any better than dark ugly ones.
My carry guns are all black (ecept for my revolver). I only have one OD green gun and its my XD Tactical. I got it just to be different.

Well, overall the color of your gun is personal preference.
I like mine just the way they are (all black). They serve their purpose (protection) just fine in their original color. Personally, I think OD green is an ugly color. But if it's what you like, then go for it! I gave a gun to my fiancee as a Christmas present, and I had it colored for HER. No other reason than I thought she'd like it, and it would be special for her. It still performs the same, regardless of color. +1 on the OD green (and other colors) sometimes being a little more expensive than their all-black counterparts.

I picked black for my XD, so it would coordinate with my outfits better. I pretty much stick to black boots and belt everyday and wouldn't want the gun and holster to clash.
This has got to be one of the silliest posts I have found, good laughs are going on here. I got black because that is the only way the XD45 compact tactical is offered, I normally prefer stainless when available. |

I could care less what color a gun is as long as it shoots straight. If someone is threatening my life then, they won't have time to see the color of my gun.
But I do wish Springfield made a pink frame......Imagine getting whacked by someone carrying a pink gun? You would get some **** in hell for that. |
