Beginning the final leg of the quest...

I went to a gun store today and looked at the XD45 models that were in the case. I asked whether there was an OD version, perhaps stored in the back, that I could look at. The clerk went to look, but reported that none were available. However, I did look at a DE version of the Service that was on display.

After a lot of pondering and studying, I've finally made up my mind to get the 4" Compact, in the OD finish. These things are just plain cool looking! There is another big gun show near here August 11 & 12, and it may be that I'll find my gun there. In any case, I appreciate all those of you who have shared in various threads about how much you enjoy this gun. I earnestly look forward to pitching my tent within that camp soon!

To me, plastic guns in colors make them seem like... plastic guns.
I'm old school, it took me a long time to accept internal hammer semis with no external safety much less Freakin' Tupperware.

Now, I love Tupperware and never shoot my SAO or DA+SA handguns.
All new rifles purchased have composite stocks, too, no wood.

My daddy would hang his head in shame if he saw me now!
