Guide Rod Issue.
Just curious, has there been any reports of the guide rod failure on the 45s? I know there were some isolated cases of the guide rods breaking on the 9s and 40s with the weld coming apart etc. I'm still really dumbfounded as to why they insist on using that two piece dual spring set up.

http://www.stiguns.com/guns/GrandMas...andMaster.html A very simliar design is used by this company also. I've seen about every mechanical part in a pistol break over the years, that being said, I wouldn't lose sleep over the XD Guide rod. |

I'm toying with the idea of the 45. No, I don't hate the XDs.. there are just other guns that I prefer.

The 45 is a fine XD variant. If you are going to get back in the game, the 45 is a great option.

Not to run away with the thread, but is there any ETA on a guide rod for a 45 service?

I have a XD45 Service and no problems with the recoil rod. Only jammed on me and dented the end of it. SA said they would replace it if damage and wouldn't work. But the replacement cost was around $14 with shipping.
get two guns for one price. 10 mag and 13 mag with the extension. Good hunting for the right gun.
