45c OR 40sc
Quote:
I suggest You limit You're calibers to the 45 or 40 calibers but that is just my opinion others may differ with my on that point however I prefer the larger round beacouse if You're carrying to defend You're life you need as much in You're favor as You can get also the holster You choose may satisfy You with even the 45 Pierce, or thunderwear look them up the mode of carry may be a money saver for You. Good luck HC |

Hank, I now own most if not all of the calibers of the XD series. I don't worry about getting all the different ammo's and even plan on starting to do my own reloading to soften my cost's. If this is a house gun or a fun gun for you, you won't go wrong either way. Mine are house/fun guns. I just may get to the CC deal soon, but I still love all my XD's. Do what your heart is telling you and be done with it. I am sure your heart is making you lean one way or the other. Just go with it. What's the down side? You end up getting the other gun and then you have two great guns in the XD series.
GOOD LUCK and Best Wishes.

Owned both
Now I only carry the 45C.... NUF said...
There is only a .25 of an inch longer in the grip length and a bit thicker. The 45 has more of a push then the 40SC ( which has a smart recoil) steve

I've owned both and sold the 45c. I've carried the 40SC for over a year now - without the mag extensions. I usually carry in an ankle rig and the extensions just didn't work for me.
I also carry an XD40 4" at times. I like the convenience of stocking only Ranger ammo and have full confidence in the 40S&W caliber. My 1911's pretty much sit in the safe or are used as 'House' guns. An XD-45T serves as my range gun and some local competitions. Whatever you get, remember, practice, practice, practice.

Just got the 45C
I carry a Glock 27 day to day and a 1911 officers 7+1 which is a brick. Was looking to upgrade to a 10+1 45 for ccw. After all the research and holding each candidate went with the 45C.
Shot it for the first time today just to break it in and LOVE IT! My G27 is staying in the safe. 45C is 4 oz lighter than my 1911, grip same length as my G27 and it doesn't print like the 1911. CompTac IWB Kydex holster is super, firm support for the 2lb 5oz loaded weight. Dont know @ the 40 sc but you'll LOVE the C especially if you ccw! |
