TLR2 or X2 SubCompact ?

I am looking for a laser/light for my XD45c.

Now I am having trouble deciding between the:

TLR2
http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum6044.php

and the

X2 SubCompact
http://www.copsplus.com/prodnum6262.php

My only issues with the TLR2 is the large size, I feel it will be monstrous on my frame. The issue with the X2 is that you can only have the laser on at the same time as the light...thoughts ?

Basically I am looking for somone to tell me if the TLR2 will be too large to be useful on my XD45c. I plan to only have it attached when it's at home and next to my bed..and to have some fun with it at the range.

I just bought a glock light/laser I'm waiting on it to get here but I liked the fit and size when i tried it in a store.

http://www.glock.com/english/acc_gtl21.htm

I hope that darn thing gets here soon, been waiting nearly 2 weeks...

The TLR2 will look goofy, but I don't see that it would be un-usable.

I just got my GTL-21 in and WOW that thing is insanely bright. The light on it is supurb. The laser is just as great, It only took me a few seconds to sight it in for 20 yards. The unit in general is great. As soon as I get my camera back I'll post some pics!

Hmm since my camera is gone I used my cellphone. Now that I think about it I doubt it'll work on a compact though.

I think my TLR-2 is much higher quality than my plain XML. The XML is plasticy and doesn't have a very good light, kind of shadowy with lines, etc. (yes I know you can focus it, but it's still annoying) Looks to be the same as the X2. The TLR-2 is MUCH nicer IMO.

You could get the all mighty M6X for about $180. Not to mention everything else you mention cheaper at Botach....

PS: I have a TLR-1 and I love it. Brightest flashlight I own. $80 at Botach.

I'd get the Insight for a couple reasons. Price is tons cheaper than the Streamlight. And size, it is a ton smaller.

I had a TLR-2 on my AR-15 and it was ok. I sold the AR-15 and bought my XD 45 and put the TLR-2 on that and I can't believe how well it fits and ease of use. TLR-2 fits great on my XD45, although I doubt you will find a holster to fit the weapon and mounted light.

The light head will extend past the barrel and slide a bit, but honestly, what is the concern if it's a nightstand/range toy? The TRL is far superior to the XML by orders of magnitude and if the cost isn't bugging you then you should just go with it.

Some will point you in other directions and that's all well and good. Get what your comfortable with.. I personally get the best I can afford, even if it means saving up for a little bit longer.

Several holster manufacturers are making holsters for weapons with lights attached, generally they build for both the SF X200 series and TRL, some times the M3/6, rarely the Glock light/laser.

The TLR-2 does extend past the barrel a little bit but I am only using it at home. I am not tacti-cool enough to carry my weapon around with the light/laser on it all the time.
