Did something stupid...

...now my gun is jammed. I somehow forgot to put the guide rod back in. Now the feed ramp is on the wrong side of the locking block. Worst part is before I realized my mistake I put the disassembly lever back down. Now I can't pull the slide back far enough to pull the lever up. It just has a hair further to go. I saw some other threads with a similar situation but they actually had their guide rods in and their disassembly lever up so I'm not sure what to do. I'd rather ask before I mess something up. Keep in mind I'm some what new to firearms and this is the first mechanical problem that I've ran into. Any advice/information will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Jesse

It got there easy enough, which means if you can apply the right forces in the right directions it will come out just as easy. The problem is figuring that out, and I am a bit tired to figure that out at this time of the night. But I have faith that it can be done!
If no solution comes up soon I can try to replicate the problem. Worst case is that we both are screwed, but I bet it can be solved so hang in there.

WOW, I guess Don was right. It was just how and where to push it. After hours of messing with it I somehow managed to get the slide to slide right off. It wouldn't slide forward before like the barrel was in an awkward position and getting caught on something. Oh well, it's fixed now so that's all that matters. Thanks again everyone!

Sweet, now you have to buy a new barrel! A ported one should do the trick...

Cool that you got it fixed, but here's a tip for when anyone gets anything stuck like that in a fire arm. Your best friends to have are some oil and a small rubber mallet. I have an assorted size set of rubber mallets for just the occasion.
