I'd be interested to know if this was a one-time event or whether the barrel was defective/needed a little fitting.

Firedragon barrels are dropins and should require very little if no fitting. From what I've seen they just require fitting for correcting aim problems. If you suspect that the barrel and not an assembly problem is the cause the contact Firedragon.

Glad it all worked out for you. When you install your guide rod and spring, take your time. Make sure the system is seated correctly, so that it does not slip off.

I put in the new bbl... but didn't work. Used a new rod and spring... still didn't work. I don't get any tension when moving the slide back. Even with the old or new rod and spring. Did it 3 or 4 times checking to make sure the rod is in the right position. Used the old bbl and new rod and spring... now It won't cock all the way back to lock the slide open. What's going on??? I'll have to call Scott at springer..

Something's certainly amiss, nothing, apparently, that's quickly visable. Yeah, I'd call Scott. If you call Springfield, they'll just have you send it in.

Can you post pics of the barrel in the slide with the guidrod and spring on. Pics of both the new barrel and spring and the old barrel and spring. I don't understand why your not getting tension when cycling the slide. Do you not get tension with the OEM spring and rod? With the new rod and spring and old barrel your saying the slide won't go all the way back? Are you sure you got the correct spring and rod for your gun. Sounds like the spring is too long.
