My saiga-12 is the nicest shotgun I've ever shot. It's a hell of a lot nicer than the 870 I traded in on it. I've never once had it jam unless I've had the gas tube set for 3inch rounds and I put a practice round in it.

It's the AK47 of shotguns, reliable, indestructable, and if you get the 24inch full choke barrel like mine, it's great for long range accuracy. I'd like to do the PG conversion on it, but lack the funds.

I recently bought a Tac & am reallystarting to like this pistol. It's a bit too big for CCW, but it gives my beloved 1911 a run for it's money at the range.

Listen carefully...this is very important. I was in your exact situation and I almost blew it....

Keep the 4" and buy the 5"....that is the ONLY answer..

Yes I carry both CCW...not at the same time. If you can carry a full size 1911 you can carry this. I carry it in a Kramer Leather IWB 3

LOL, I almost spit my coffee out.
Yes, perhaps I should buy both... but I'll have to sell something of value in order to pull-off that stunt. I have some seldom-used camera lenses that might do the trick. You own both the 4" and 5" in .45?

Btw, nice holster! I've heard of Kramer, but let's be honest my 9mm didn't deserve such a nice rig.

Excellent! I've heard these XDs were accurate (in the right hands of course).

Oh man, I had a 24" Saiga 12 in my hands yesterday but passed for the XD. I need a second job or else I might as well start drawing up the divorce papers now because the wife will soon reach her limit.

With right trigger job, 'tis true. I keep waffling on whether or not to get another one (XD45 Tac), but I would end up putting some more $$ in it to get it exactly how I want it (trigger job, night sights)

I have the XD45 Tact, it is my daily (CCW) carry gun, in a 5 shot leather holster (IWB). I have the Uncle Lou.

Best of both worlds

Hey its great to be in a site with other xd fans. first post.

I have both the .45 4" service in black and the .45 5" bi tone. I have had the 4" for a few months and it is AMAZING. Never had a jam with close to 1000 rounds through it. I just got the bi tone because i wanted a bad ass looking gun that would work and be accurate. The 4" is great for ccw and glove boxes while the 5" is for showing off at the range. I got a scope mount for my 5" and put a nice little reflex on it. Dead on accurate.

Another newbie

Well, as of today I own an XD. I did get the 5" Tactical.

Take my opinion with a grain of salt, because as I said, I just got it today. I'm not too concerned about CCW with the 5 inch. Yes, its a bit long, so I think I'll have to settle on the best way to carry it. But I've been carrying a Ruger P95 concealed for several years. Of course the P95 is a bit over an inch shorter, but the frame is large. That's why I decided to move up - If I'm carrying a firearm as large as the P95, I may as well carry a 45. I carry the Ruger IWB, either with a light jacket or with my shirt untucked. Occaisionally I've even carried it under a t-shirt.

Anyway, I think it'll work out fine.
