Major backlog on .45ACPs..

I (thankfully) bought a case of 500 in Winchester .45 last week.

Place I ordered from now has another shipment scheduled to come in on July 31st.

Searched a few more places online... lots of 'out of stock' or back ordered items.

I like this ammo (shoots well) and is quality stuff.

Both.

Generally the cheap stuff is on backorder.. no one wants to order the expensive stuff.

Reload

I was looking into reloading due to this kind of thing. I live next to Ft Bragg. .45 is expensive and out of stock all the time around here. I would like some advice for getting started.

Every serious shooter should be a handloader. It's pretty simple, if you can follow directions, you can handload. I would recommend a good book called The ABCs of Reloading. Read the sections on metallic cartridge reloading & you'll have a good idea what you will need to start. Check w/ your local gunshop or range & see if they have a class on handloading/reloading & check that out. There are also some DVDs out now on the basics. You can get started for as little as $200 & make ammo that shoots better than factory for as little as 10c/rd.

I just got an email from Outdoormarksman that says they have plenty in stock on the West coast. I don't know about their east coast location as I don't look there..
