XD45 Reliability testimony

I shot my xd45 for the first time 3 days ago. I had a few hundred rounds of old 45 ammo. It was about 8 different manufacturers/reloads all mixed together. HPs of different types, RNs. I fired a few hundred rounds without a single malfunction. The sights were POI everytime. Very reliable. I'm impressed.

I could also definitely notice the recoil difference between the ammos.

Good news indeed. That's pretty much been my experience with it so far after more than 1000 rounds.

My XD 45 Tactical eats everything I feed it without complaints. To date, it’s been 100% reliable. The only other gun I can say I have never had a malfunction with is the Glock.

Thumbs up

Same exp. for me w/ my new XDTac. The only hicup has been w/ LSWC & it does dimple the back of the mag. so no more of those. Every JHP & LFP I fed through w/ 0 problems. Accuracy has been a pleasent surpirse. It's pretty easy to get 1 1/2" handheld 15yd groups w/ several handloads & factory rounds.

Most reliable gun I have owned.

I have fired many different kinds of ammo - from vietnam era surplus to high priced JHP SD rounds and everything in between - through my XD45 and never had one failure whatsoever.

Same here, I've fired about every brand of .45 out there from cheap WOLF and S&B, to expensive JHP and frangibles.
The XD just gobbles anything I feed it. I love this gun more and more everyday.

A friend of mine said this. "It's boringly reliable". He ment that in a good way.

I totally argree the only thing the XD45s seem to have trouble with are LSWC which many guns have trouble with. My SIG 220 won't load them either, about the only thing that does is the 1911s.

I had 1 FTF with the UMC yellow box. That day, I shot Fiocchi, UMC, Blazer Brass, WWB, Speer Gold dots. Everything else seemed fine. Im just hoping that it was the ammo and not the gun. Everything else went as smooth as butter though, went trhoug habout 250ish rounds.
