My new XD .45 Compact release button is also stiff with a loaded mag. Pushing up on the bottom of the mag does help when pushing the mag release button.

Empty mag...no problem...drops like a rock. Remember in a quick reload situation you will be dropping an empty mag to pop in a fresh one.

By the way...I have been waiting since January 07 for my Bi-tone tac xd-45. I found one on Gunbroker and had to call my local gunshop to tell them I was tired of waiting and was going to order one online. 6 months is ridiculous. Gunbroker is the way to go! Glad to be on this forum!

Why would you ever be trying to eject a loaded magazine?

well thats easy lets say your would be assalent doesnt really seem like a bad guy.You should give verbal comands to "halt and stand down" then after the 22nd time you repeat yourself,to the not so bad guy, you should then release you magazine. Now take you 10rd magazine, since the instructions are for California, and throw it at your would be assalent, whom is now the victim, rendering him senseless.

NOW in n.c. we have different method. i call it EZ mag release.
After gaining poor SOB's attention with "hey_______!!!!" (endless poss.) He turns ,you dump 13+1 in him.NOW you get EZ-mag release.

Exactly the same with mine. Seems to be loosening up a bit with use, though.

For 1 thing- when I want to empty a loaded gun to clean it or to show it to a buddy. Doesn't look cool when you have to bear down on the eject button.
Also, certain guns in my home remain unloaded-gun secured in one spot, magazine in another (kids). So when I get home I eject the mag. The guns in the safe remain loaded.
