would you get a 1911 if you already have a XD45?
i know i will just cause i like the design and its history.. but i just wonder if there are guys out there that would not get a 1911 if they already bought a XD45 since the XD hold 13 rounds and the 1911 is only 7

I would like to purchase a 1911 in the near future. The craftsmanship and history of the gun are what make it so very appealing to me. I would most likely go with a Springfield Armory loaded model full size.

i dont think the zombie is going to know the difference if he gets seven shots (that were placed faster) in the chest as opposed to 13. dead is dead, regardless of how many bullets. and if you cant stop a threat with seven rounds. . .i doubt the extra 6 are going to be that much more useful. unless of course we are talking about multiple zombies. . .but then i would prefer a shotgun. . .

Craftsmanship and history aside, if you enjoy shooting the XD over the 1911, I see no need in owning a 1911. 1911's are sexy, but so would be a PAIR of XD's.

The 1911 has a completely different trigger and trigger feel, plus it packs a lot thinner. Everyone should have a 1911. Mine is a Colt Goldcup National Match w/ a 2# trigger that breaks like glass so of course I can't carry it.

I only have three 1911's. Most of the things I own are there because I love the looks/design. I have a half dozen cars and three safes full of guns. To me, it's the same as someone buying artwork to hang on the wall. I just like looking at them. One of my 1911's is unfired. One has only been test fired for function. My XD's and Sigs are my go-to guns. My 1911's are my artwork to appreciate.
