I think they run in the 800s, you should check out this site m1911.org and you will surely know what ever you want to know about the 1911a1

If my initial experience with cheap 1911 clones, years ago, wasn’t so miserable, I’d probably have a dozen 1911’s by now. Buddy and I each bought bargain-priced 1911’s at the same time. These were super cheap and extra-crappy Auto-Ordinance models that would rarely shoot a complete magazine without jamming. Sites fell off on both within three outings. Hitting a pop can at ~30’ was near impossible. One was milled so that the slide was not parallel with the frame. Both were pretty loose.
But fairly recently I had been firing some much nicer 1911’s (nothing terribly fancy - Colts, Kimbers, and Springfields), that all shot straight, were reliable, and had nice triggers, and I got the itch. I ended up buying a Kimber, and I’ll probably buy another Kimber or a Springfield 1911 as my next gun purchase. Might even ditch my G34 to help finance it. While I love my XD45, and I enjoy shooting it more than either of my two Glocks, I have to say that my 1911 is a whole different experience in fun. At ranges where I really have to focus to keep shots remotely group-like when shooting my XD and Glocks (past 50‘ or so), my 1911 really shines. Hitting the 5” spinner at 30 yards is a no-brainer with my 1911, but I’m thrilled if I get consecutive hits with my “Tupperware” pistols. My 1911 wouldn’t be my first choice as my carry gun (mostly because I don’t want to hurt it), but it’s certainly the most fun to shoot. |

If it spits 45APC I want it !!
My XD has Trijicons and an Internal Laserex, it is accurate but a bit heavy as a carry. A small sacrifice for the extra firepower. I have owned most of the weapons that can spit 45APC. 1911's A1's and clones, stock and accurized by almost everyone. At present I have a 1937 National Match "American Beauty" w/factory adj Stevens Sights. Nothing is more dependable than a clean, stock, Original 1911. (In my opinion). Very Few perfect ones are available outside of collections. Dozens of "Hot Rod" companies manufacture $1000 to $2000 "as good as" 1911 copies accurized to the max.....in a hundred years we will know by the combat stories just how good the XD will fair. Oil your 1917 and make sure you have lots of half moon clips.

If I were buying another 1911, I would look hard @ the S&W copie. Very nice, good shooter, from the guys that own them, & the price is right for all the bells & whistles you get (under $900). Make mine a lt.wt. Comm. version, only because I don't have one of those.

Hey army guy....im an ex army guy!
I can tell you, i bought an XD first, then thought "man i love the historical value and look and feel of the 1911" So i bought a Springfield 1911 and now my biggest problem is deciding which one I want to carry or shoot. I love them both!

Armyguy...All I'll do is warn you of the 1911's addictive qualities! I have more 1911 style pistols in my safe that other styles and they seem to multiply in there! ...don't say you haven't been warned!

I did.... The XD45ACP is my first gun, I got it last September and now I got a few gun collection. I also like the design and history of the 1911 so I bought me a cheap one a few weeks ago. So far after 350 rounds down range, not a single failure.
