Accessories for the Service Model

I been trying to search but am not finding what I am looking for.

I have the .45 Service and would like a Tac light in the future. I have not found one that fits this short frame.

Anyone got a link to what I am looking for?

It has a standard light rail, so most every standard tac light will fit.

fit meaning it doesn't stick out passed the end of the muzzle or what?

That was my concern as well. I looked at some lights but they were fitted to a 1911 or the Tac model and even then, the light was as long as the utility rail. I cannot imagine that a Tac light will fit a Service model and not stick out at least an inch.

It's not a problem for the light to stick out some. I've seen some at the local range that stick out around 3". They appeared to be universal type mounts. I'm not sure what kind of lights they were using. None of them seemed to have a problem. I personally like the way the TLR-1 looks on the XD service.

With the right light it will not stick out past the muzzle. This is mine with the X2 on it.

Where is this light sold? What brand is it?

The X-2 from Insight.

Check out http://www.insightlights.com/product...duct.asp?id=13

Personally, I have my eye on the M6X, which combines both light and laser: into one unit:

Jumping Frog,

That was what I was initially looking for, but they did not have one. Instead of buying another I have been looking hard at the Guide Rod Laser by Laser Max. A buddy has them in his 1911 and Beretta. I have handled them both and shot both guns with them......I really like them. I especially like that you can use your current holster.

I dont really care for the look of my service with a light on it.. I definatly prefer the light to be flush with the barrel. I will be ordering a tactical xd45 aswell though so it will work itself out
