My new XD45 compact ended up costing me $1k

My wife went to the range with me last friday and I shot another 200 rounds through my new gun. That makes 400 rounds total with zero problems.

My wife was shooting her Ruger 9mm and she saw how much I was enjoying my XD45c. I was shooting two hands, strong hand and weak hand. She always figured a .45 would be too much for her to handle. Then she saw how well I could do it one handed.

So when I asked her if she wanted to try it, she jumped at the chance to see if she can handle a .45. She ended up loving my gun. She was enjoying it so much she tried strong hand and weak hand and thought how cool it was that she could handle a .45.

She now wanted a .45 of her own. She needed something a little more compact then the XD45c. She wanted it the size of her Bersa 380.

We went back to the range on Saturday and she rented a Taurus PT145. She admits it wasn't as good as my XD45c but it was the size and price she wanted. The taurus had more recoil but nothing she couldn't handle.

She ended up getting a Taurus PT145 with a SS slide. She can't wait to get back to the range and try it out.

She is so proud of herself and I am too that she was able to move up from a 380, to a 9mm and now a .45 in such a short time.

So all in all, my XD45c has cost me about $1k. But the look on her face is priceless.

Nicely done. The trigger on the Taurus takes some getting used to, but the PT140 I had was a great little gun. I was defense accurate with it out to 25 yards, and though I shoot better with my XD, it is great. The SS slides are some slick lookin little guns, too.

The first handgun my wife ever fired was my XD45c. She thought the recoil would knock her on her butt the first time she shot it. She even had me stand behind her and hold her sholders, just in case. But then when she fired it she realized it wasn't that bad. She wanted one too, so now she has her own XD45c.

So, i feel your pain.

Yeah my XD45 was the first handgun my girlfriend ever shot followed minutes after by a Ruger 9mm (a range rental) and she prefered to shoot my XD! I'm in no danger of having to get her one of her own (she actually pointed out how many shoes she could get for the price of one) but it's nice to know she's willing to learn how to handle it.

I let my friend shoot my XD 45 Tactical (200 gr reloads and a Canyon Creek trigger job, a very smooth shooting gun).

Now he wants MY GUN. Not one like it, MY GUN.
I explained he can buy one, send it to CC or Springer and get a gun just like it. Nope, wants MY GUN.

Not sure how to handle this.

My new (to me) Jeep just cost me an additional $6500 in wooden floors. Last week it cost me a $700 ring. Damn thing is getting expensive!

Zombie, love the avatar. I could stare at it all day!

Cheers! M2

Great to see you shooting with your wife. I was going to get a 9mm Tactical for my wife to shoot but am interested in letting her shoot my .45 Tac first to see if she minds it.

If you want to keep your gun there is only one way to handle it..

Ya gotta shoot him.....

Seriously, no contest... he's got to get his own
