Anyone ever seen or heard of anyone porting a xd45C ?

Anyone ever seen or heard of anyone porting a xd45C -- something like the v-10? I'm looking for a way to kill some of that muzzle flip. It is my carry piece. I love it but the flip is killing me.

I know exactly what will take care of that! Put your strong thumb over your weak thumb instead of the other way like your pictured. I can shoot the XD45 with relatively low muzzle flip and my XD9 with almost none at all. Search the forum for proper grip and you will find a lot of knowledge. It helped me out a lot.

Yeah, proper grip will eliminate almost ALL of that muzzle flip. If you want to port it anyway, you can try MagnaPort or maybe Lone Wolf would do the machining for you and you could buy a separate compensated barrel.

+1 from my point of view!

You've got the power to change it in your hands!

I don't notice much muzzle flip with my G30, and it's about the same size as a compact XD45, isn't it? I use recoil springs appropriate for the loads that I'm shooting. If your XD is throwing brass farther than about 8', you could probably use a stronger recoil spring.

no one mentioned that its his carry peice. I would not port a gun that i may have to use at night. The ports go up, so at night you will get a fireball in front of your face.
