This is excellent stuff. Thanks for posting. I'll bet people will be surprised how slow their ammo is actually going. I thought my 230Grain +P rangers would be over a thousand. Guess not.
Thanks for the service.

All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting. |

Chrono Results 45ACP Tactical
I have seen similar results, that most .45 's are around 850 fps with 350 # feet of energy. Sounds like the standard numbers we learned in the Corps. I love my XD-45 Tactical. All the more reason for a 10mm XD Tactical.

P-109: I was not shooting for accuracy at that time. My only concern for accuracy was to not shoot the sky screens of my chrony! BTW, I was not completely 100% sucessful. -steve

The higher numbers mean more energy on target, which is also important in a self defense round, but the higher the speed, the more powder is needed (usually) and there's more felt recoil.

Same ammunition shot through a 1911 and chronographed would be interesting.
