Only problem I've had with either of mine was with some of the old green laquer coated wolf ammo. The round fired but the casing got stuck in the chamber. Waited a few minutes for the gun to cool and was able to retract the slide and eject the empty case. Happened twice.
I've fired about 1500 rounds of the new gray ploymer coated rounds with no problem. Would still be shooting em today if I hadn't started reloading. Other than those 2 times with my tactical, my Xd's have been flawless.

I went out yesterday after work and got 100 rounds of gray Wolf to fire through with only a few minor problems. It may just be because I have less than 1000 rounds through it.
Here is what 50 =/- rounds look like at 3, 9, 15, & 21 feet look like.

I've had good luck w/SWC in both my .45s. My service did pretty good w/ it but I gave the gun to my neighbor so I see it much any more but my tactical does really well. After 100-150 the top of the chamber gets crudded up and needs to be cleaned. I don't shoot a lot of lead in it because it's such a PIA to clean the lube out! Compressor and carb cleaner big time.

My XD-45 doesn't like 9mm ammo very much.

So far I have fired WWB, Fiocchi, Magtech, and Wolf{grey cased} in 230gr FMJ with no malfunctions. I have also tested HP's in Golden Sabers{230}, Gold Dots{200 & 230gr}, Starfire{230}, Hydra Shok{230}, WWB{230}, Rem{230}, Fiocchi{230}, and one or two others that I can't remember right now. I've have yet to have a malfunction.

Federal HST
I had 3 FTF out of 50 rounds using Federal HST. I'm getting the ramp polished while it is at springer precision, so we will see if I still have feeding problems after that.

My XD45 Tactical will feed anything perfectly, including all my reloads (even really weak ones) but the lead from soft lead SWC reloads builds up in the chamber and after about 70 rounds it jams and sticks.
Doesn't do this with the moly coated bullets of course, works great. Never jams with anything I've tried, I carry Federal Hydrashocks but I don't carry this gun so I've tried NO defense ammo with it.

I just got my XD back from Springer Precision (who does incredible work, btw). He had polished the feed ramp (as well as trigger job, etc). So I took the gun to the range today - no FTF out of the 39 rounds I shot. I'm still planning on buying another 150-200 and shooting them off, just to make sure the problem is fixed, but I'm feeling pretty good right now.
