Getting spare parts is about the only con I can think of, that and the long trigger pull, but that can be eliminated with trigger job.

It can be picky about bullet profile...Not so my 1911, which is why I sold my XD.

Major CON: Your other guns will get lonely from being left behind.

Seriously. Only CON now that it's a few months and a few thousand rounds later... still waiting for my spare mags. My retailer still has them on back-order from Springfield. IPSC course is at the end of the month and now I have to practice my 9mm more because I dont have enuff 45 mags.

Other than that, 45 takes a lot more lead for casting than the other calibers so trying to get enuff wheel weights to keep the thing fed. 1 230gr 45 = 2 124gr 9mm bullets

I think another CON would be that FMJ bulk bullets are about 1.5 times the price of 9mm so that would come into question once my mags do arrive and have to start using the FMJ's.

I agree with Tally XD, I had my slide get locked up once, bad news bears, fixed it myself though. One other con I can think of is the fact that it doesn't feed SWC (semi wad cutters) like a 1911 will.

Cons, I'll give you some.

I have one of these and a GLOCK 21. So here are the XD Cons:

Not too many after market stuff including:
Trigger adjustment
Back Plate Color Change
Grip Plug Insert
(Yes someone now makes a better recoil rod)
No Match 10mm Barrel (there is a 400 corbon)
Hard to detail strip compared to GLOCK
No large capacity (33 round) magazine

So basically it remains stock.
