At the risk of beating a dead horse, I'd love to get rid of my loaded chamber indicator. It tells you nothing you shouldn't already know. It can't be (nor should be relied upon), and is a gun specific feature that some people substitute for solid skills and a sound manual of arms (I am not saying that the previous poster does this).

I don't list my guns - I know glocks, FALs, and AKs but I'm not sure my ability to fill a gunsafe with guns make me an expert on anything.

All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting.

No cons. I love it. I want to sleep with it, but I also love my other guns, and I can't make up my mind which one to sleep with. Right now I'm sleeping with a shotgun. I am very lucky. I love all my guns equally.

1. Croatia is one of the Balkan territories that used to be the former Yugo slovia under Slobadan Milosivic and seperated into Bosnia, Serbia and Croatia after the fall of the USSR I think. I believe and brought up the concept of ethnic cleansing which we had to show him they were wrong with a few the finest airpower to change his ways. Not a historian but I think that's the gist.
2. The XD-45 ammo is expensive and heavier then say a 9mm to acrry around.
3. It is a big gun with a large grip and boxy frame so carry concealed is a problem during summer when you want to carry concealed especially the large grip that protrudes even when I wear it in the waistband. I have medium hands and just had to get used to the size(that's what she said).
4. Removing the sights is a huge pain in the ass from what gun smiths say if you want to add after market sights.
5. Trigger need to be broken in. Mine took about 200 rounds before it became smooth but maybe that was me just getting used to it.
All in all with those cons it is a great gun, after it was broken in it was like pointing my finger and able to hit bullseyes consistently and never had a problem with what I feed it. Not a great carry concealed in the summer or if you are thin and have average body type so i use it for bedside gun and during the winter.

Once you've been in a firefight, you tend to lose count of the rounds. with no mags left, you wonder if you have one in the chamber. I've never met the man that can keep count while he's being shot at.

And it's a physical lift, if there is a round it there, it's up. It can be counted on.

In addition, for those who use it as a bedside, they perhaps may forget for a sec if there's one in the pipe. It's a quick and easy way to tell.

This is the first pistol I've owned a with a LCI. As a matter of fact, I'm going to have to make myself look at or feel for it until I realize, out of habit, it's there.

I hadn't heard that, but I'm delighted if that is true.
