1. The trigger is a bit poor straight out of the box. It does tighten up a bit after a couple hundred rounds. I'm still likely to get a trigger job.
2. The sights are meh, and hard to replace. 3. Both .40s&w and 9mm are cheaper to feed, and you get more rounds per mag as well. 4. Wolf steel cased ammo often binds in the mags. There are several people that have had the problem, including myself. |

The only con is ammo costs if you don't reload.
Everyone who shoots .45 reloads!

If there is one con..
First off, I agree with everyone else here- the XD45 truly is perfect in just about every way. That being said, there is one minor gripe- and that's by comparing the stock trigger on my XD40 subcompact and my new XD45 Compact.
My XD-40 simply has a much smoother, lighter trigger pull, right from the factory. I just got my XD45 back from Springer Precision, and was pleased to note that the trigger was quite a bit lighter and smoother. However, on a few of the reviews, there was comparison to a Springer trigger job to finely tuned 1911. Although the trigger is noticeably lighter, it did not compare to 1911 trigger. There was still quite a bit of travel (known as trigger creep) before the trigger broke. Again, not bashing my XD45 in any way... just noting the trigger comparison between two Springfield products. Q
Minor con but a con nonetheless - replacing or adjusting the rear sight is a giant pain in the arse.
It's simply not necessary to make it that difficult to accomplish for gosh sakes.

Besides Springfield Armory and their parts policy (which really gets hammered on Survivalist sites) I have heard of this issue from a guy posting on another forum (but also a member of this one as well):

I have never had an issue with my loaded chamber indicator.
The only things I don't like about my XD45C 4" is the trigger, and the parts availability.

My XD45 loaded chamber indicator sticks open at ~1000 round intervals, but I use some not-so-clean burning powder in my loads. It's an easy enough fix (one pin and a little scraping), but a mild pain nonetheless.

I'd rather have to clean it once every 1000 rounds than not have it. It sure comes in handy in the dark - I've had to use it once, and have glanced at it many times just to check.
