Question/XD-45 Compact!
I am a new owner of an XD-45 Compact and actually really love the gun. It's surprising really as I am a 1911 guy for the most part and they carry very well. However I wanted more capacity, save a bit of weight ands have my spare mag of even higher capacity if i ever needed it and the XD fit that need nicely.
My question is, when I am inserting the mag (fully loaded) the left side of the slide actually look's? as if it lift's up and you can then see the top round in the mag between the frame and slide. What bothers me is it stay's like this in condition one! Is this normal and if so why? I would think this would cause the slide to hang up some, no?. The right side look's like it's fine. Maybe it's just me cause I am not used to that on my 1911's and since i can see the round between the frame and slide it raised the question. So I thought I would ask about it to see what the actual deal is with this!? USG |

The slide doesn't raise up, there is just a gap and you can see inside to the mag.
I have my 45c in my hand right now and the slide isn't moving at all while inserting/removing the mag, but I can clearly see the top round in the mag

Hum, it's an illusion! I could tell the slide wasn't moving much if any at all but it just appeared as if it was when seeing the round between the frame and slide inserted. I guess when the round is in you can see the gap clearly and it changes the perception and the slide "appears" to raise up some.
Thank's for the reply's, i feel better about it now. USG |

look at the back of your slide (at the rails) as you insert the loaded mag.
it does raise up ever so slightly. now take the mag out, still look at the back of the slide...pull trigger to take out slack, slide moves up. Mike |
