I'm thinking of having the slide hardchromed like i did with a s-w, from pics i've seen looks darn nice, whats ur guys take on that? Read some say to just leave it alone! Any rubber grips for the xd yet or just slip ons, and if slip ons, cant i just make a cutout i n the rubber for the grip safety? thanks in advance and rest assurd i'll be doing a lot of reading up here in the future!! Listen, you want to get the Hogue brand Rubber Slip-On sleeve (Model# 17000), which is very user friendly and very easy to install. You just slip it on as high up on the grip as you want it and then remove the magazine and trim off the excess on the bottom with a razor knife. And then, you are in business!

It does not interfere with the grip safety at all. You will love it 4 sure!

Enjoy your new toy and BTW....

+1 on the Hogue grip. Mine eventually split out. Hated shooting without it. Bought 2 the next time. I read somewhere that once they start getting loose, pull it off, spray hair spray on the inside of the grip, re-apply and then let it set 2 day's. It's not supposed to move any more after that.

He's probably not going to have to trim anything off the bottom with a XD45 Tactical...I fit the whole full size Hogue grip on my XD45c.

put the hairspray on the first time you put them on, it will act like a lub making install easier then it will dry and you shouldn't have any issues with it after that

And here I was worrying that the Hogue Hand-all slip on grip would cover up the grip safety. I'll have to get one now!

you more than likely will have to trim around the grip safety. i did on both my service and subby. just put it on where you want it, covering the safety, then cut slits down the sides of the safety with an exacto knife or sharp razor blade then trim off the flap. three small cuts and you're done
