Dead horse

I know i'm beating a dead horse when i say i just purchased my XD-45 compact. But i just can't help it. I love the gun; although i feel as if i paid more than i had too. I was looking for and xd-9 compact, but no one i visited had one. A dealer we do a lot of business with had the xd-45 compact with the xd gear in stock so i bit the bullet and bought it. And for people who say the .45ACP has too much recoil, my 5'5'' and 115lb girlfriend likes it; so quit being a p*ss*. Unless, it's the price of ammo. I'm going to go bankrupt from it.

The recoil concern is not about being a kitty, it's about follow up shots.

Sure, if you're going to fire one shot the recoil is not an issue.. If you're going to take 5 shots, the time to re-sight your target is longer, thus the total time it takes to shoot your 5 shots is longer...

I've got the XD45 Compact, two 1911's, I'm not anti-45ACP in the slightest, BUT the lower calibers DO have there place in the world.

True. I didn't buy it to compete with and didn't think about that market. We generally shoot cans. Personally, I feel that even if one misses and assailant with the first shot, the BOOM will scare most of them away.

I here you! I have the XD45 service model and love it. First semi auto pistol I have owned after trying the smaller calibers, I found I could shoot the XD 45 better than them all!

As for follow up shots, I just shot a 1.5 inch group rapid fire with my XD last Saturday. There is a bit more of muzzle flip, but proper grip and stance go along way in follow up shots.

Reloading is a great hobby to get into. I have been doing it for several years and when I got my XD, it was a no brainer. I shoot Blazer Brass and have been saving it all until I can get a turret or progressive press.

i've been working on my grip and i don't have problems with well placed double taps being on target. not that i'm anything special, but if you work on your grip and stance, it shouldn't be a problem.

my wife shot my XD45, not rapid fire or anything, but she punched out the middle of a target at 3 yards with one ragged hole...not bad for the second time she'd ever fired any firearm whatsoever.
