I have the .45 ACP XD 4" barrel. More accurate out of the box than either of my two other XDs. But, have to confess...don't reload, but do go to the range a lot. So I do enjoy the 5" Tactical 9mm XD for the sake of cheap Ammo. I had the Carry Package done to it by SA. Worth the money, except for the extended mag release if you were going to shoot comps with it (found it got in the way of weak hand use).
My vote is for the 5" XD in 9mm for your next one. I have not regretted any of the XDs that I have bought. The reason I got the tactical 9mm and finally the .45 ACP is that I put 7 K worth of rounds through the 4" standard 9mm in 3 months and it didn't burp once (I was gifted a major supply of 9mm ammo from someone who didn't shoot any more, but had several cases of 10 year old Winchester white box laying around. Nice!) BTW, not to usurp the thread, but 4Tweet....how did you buy two pistols at the same time? That is if you bought them in So Cal. Californai has a legal waiting period of 30 days from purchase of one gun to the next. Just curious. |

First was 45 tactical for IPSC, second will be a 40 sc. A 45acp sc would be my first choice if springfield made one.

First was a Black XD40 Service ('05)... second was a BiTone XD40 Service ('06)... third was a Black XD40 SubCompact ('07). Bought one every year lately. Though I was on the board for a year before I actually bought one.

Started with the XD45C, my second was the XD45 Tac. These are just too sweet.
