I'm still on the list...
Just got off the phone with my lgs, and they got in an XD 45 in 4inch, but still no Tac. He's still looking for me, so here's hoping. I've been waiting for months now, and I'm getting kind of impatient. I hope this won't drive the price up for it though.

I hope the price doesn't go up either for you. When I priced the XD 45 tactical it was $560.00 at my local shop. When I went in to buy one (when they were finally in) I had to pay $590.00 for it. Dang $30.00 price hike.

The gun store I bought mine from wanted $540 for the service model . . . I got a discount for paying in cash but I sure as heck wouldn't want to see what he would have wanted for a 5".
Good luck finding a 5" . . . I know I'm gonna be looking for one as a graduation present for myself next year.

Guys, there is a Stainless Tactical on gunbroker for $559, BUY IT NOW, price.
http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...?Item=71822448 Even with shipping $20, and my local FFL fee-$10, it would be $589 total for me, but I already have a Comp Tac.

It is what gun stores in my area charge for FFL transfer fees. Don't know if the same holds true across CA. I once had knew a pawn shop that only charged $65, but they've been shut down by the ATF. Some in my area charge 20% of the price of the gun. Sux to be here.

$100 transfer fee is required in Ca. Some shops will include the DOJ papers with that and some charge extra. When getting a gun from out of state w/hi-capacity mags, see if they wont send the gun without them. Though that extra $100 makes most purchases not worth the trouble.
Heck, I don't feel so bad about the price I paid for mine anymore (.45acp tactical); $569+tax and $35 for all the toilet paper the state requires I fill out. I ordered mine about 2 months after it was released and waited about another month and a half after that for it to come in. |

Captain, It is a sad state of affairs when the local gun dealers are sticking it to their own customers like that. There has to be some honest FFLs in your area. Highest price for a transfer here is $25, and most charge less. Heck, they are only providing you with paperwork! Sheeesh! 66

$100 dealer to dealer fee is state wide for stores, I believe (every one I've seen at least). I say state wide because I seem to remember a dealer explaining that to me once. But, I know of one shop (it's a big store) that charges $150. Some gunsmiths might charge x% for a transfer, which is the way to go, if you can get them to do it. Most don't like to though because they make more money doing gunsmith work and don't wanna take the time to process an order.
