Precisely... it kind of feels like a DA, but it's not. That's why I used the phrase "true DA".

If you want it to be decocked so you just have to pull the trigger to recock/fire it... what's the difference between being cocked with the safeties, and decocked and pulling the trigger??? In both situations it goes bang when the trigger is pulled!!

just my oppinion tho...

To decock the XD without firing:
1.) Drop the magazine.
2.) Rack the slide, thereby ejecting the live round from the chamber.
3.) Dry fire to decock the striker.

Note: This is also how to 'clear' the weapon.

Again, XD's are single action, not double action. Pulling the trigger will not cock the gun.

RonJon's description is SF's suggested procedure for long storage of the XD. This will relieve tension from the spring, otherwise leave it alone.

With the XD's safety features, why would you even want to "decock" it?
Unless your fondling a loaded gun for the stupidity of it, wear it loaded and cocked, in the words of Nugent "Cocked, Locked and Ready to Rock Doc!"
Just my 2 cents...
