What kind of information are you looking for? Both Hogue and Pachmayr offer such grips...

I believe the pics you have are Hogue grips. I can't help you with which particular size they are, one of those guys will have to chime in. However, I can tell you that I use a Pachmayr #3 on my service model. It really improves the feel of your grip, especially if you have larger hands.

The specific HOGUE model number you are looking for is the #17000 which is by design for the larger pistols such as the XD Service models.
I have it on my XD9 Service and it works great. A true nice addition to any XD. Last edited by PSALM109; 05-22-2007 at 08:35 AM. |

I ordered a large Hogue grip intending to use it on my XD-45 Service. I read the installation instructions and found this warning: "Do not install this sleeve on pistols with grip safeties or functions. ......... as it will disable the grip safety mechanism." This is obvious if the sleeve is installed over the grip safety, so I decided to install it anyway and just trim the sleeve so it would not cover the grip safety.
All went fine until I tried dry firing with the sleeve in place and trimmed. To my surprise, I found that if I didn't grip the pistol just so, the added thickness of the sleeve pushed my hand back from the grip safety just far enough so that it would not release, and the pistol would not fire. This didn't happen every time, but if my grip varied even a slight bit, the gun would not fire. Can't have that in a tight situation, and I don't get to practice enough to develop a consistent grip that would unfailingly release the grip safety, so I pulled the sleeve off the XD and installed it on my Taurus PT111 which does not have a grip safety. The sleeve works great on the Taurus, and I am very happy wit it. YMMV of course, depending on your hand, style of grip, gun clearances, etc., but I couldn't take the chance that my gun might not fire in a defensive situation because my grip might be off just a bit.
