Is my XD45c has a problem?
Greetings,
Here are some pictures of my XD. Check how the srping rod front plate is extruding. On my Taurus, it is in contact with the front of the gun. I disassembled the gun to show some picts of the rod too. This gun was not fired yet(maybe the one or 2 rounds at the factory). Does your XD show this same peculiar carracteristic? Do I have to be concerned? http://picasaweb.google.com/kestak/XD45Problem Thank you |

I just bought my XD45 yesterday and mine does the same thing so it might be normal. I haven't shot mine yet either.
I've been cycling the gun and dry firing and haven't noticed any problems. |

I was also concerned and called SA customer service after I looked at the visual difference between the 4" & 5". He explained the difference in the compressed spring guide rod on the 4" and the 1911 style spring & guide rod on the 5". He said it is totally normal for the 4" to stick out appx 1/16".

that is part of the design of the pistol. the reason the guide rod sicks out is for very close defense. if you stick the gun in someones gut, the guide rod keeps their body from pushing the slide back enough to stop the weapon from firing.
