XD.45 Compact trigger pull
I picked up my new XD .45 compact this week and had the shop gunsmith check the trigger pull before I left the store. He said it broke at 8.5 lbs. Springfield's website states the range is from 5.5 to 7.7 lbs. Should this improve as I shoot and break in the gun?

It also depends on where they put the scale when they take the measurment. If you test at the tip of the trigger, it might be in the 6# range. The same trigger tested in the middle might be closer to 8#.
Your 'smith might've tested in the middle of the trigger and Springfield might test at the tip... It's all subjective really. But yes. It will smooth out over time. But why wait when you can have a first class "trigger-job" using the new drop-in kit from Springer Precision! |

There is also a (very long) thread here on the forums where Scott (Old School) tested the kit in a bunch of different factory XDs. *EDIT* I found Scott's original test results, right here. There is also a drop-in trigger bar coming soon that will complete the "do-it-yourself" trigger-job! Last edited by Hooz : 05-12-2007 at 04:36 PM. |
