xd45 magazines

...I just acquired an additional 13rd mag for my xd compact...seems to function ok but since it wasn't for the compact version, it's missing the "sleeve" spacer...aside from the obvious cosmetic distraction, does anyone know if this mag can cause damage by "bottoming out" too hard when slamming the mag home, and can I merely get a slip-on sleeve to fill the gap?

If you slam anything hard enough I suppose you could conceivably damage it, but in normal use I don't believe you should have any problems using a 13 round magazine w/o a spacer in your XD Compact.

I'm assuming you're talking about an XD 45 ACP Compact. So far I haven't seen any extra sleeves available from Springfield Armory or aftermarket suppliers like Pearce Grips, but both Springfield and Pearce have said these items will be available in the future. Pearce is also working on a pinkie finger grip extension for the 10 round Compact magazines.

Here it comes again

Can you get them directly from Springfield? I didn't see them listed on their extras to buy stuff. <snip>
And one more time...

Springfield does not have them listed on their website. They do, however, have them. This site's sponsor, unfortunately, does not list them either, nor have them.

But they ARE readily available

Just buy one with the sleeve and sell me the sleeveless one.
