Shoulder Holsters for 45 ACP Tactical?

Anyone carry concealed via this method?

Currently wearing Crossbreed IWB supertuck (fantastic product) but cannot present the weapon in a reasonable amount of time if I'm wearing a tucked in shirt.

Does anyone carry via shoulder holster under a tucked in shirt? Do you have presentation issues when your shirt's tucked in? What brand do you find the most comfortable/durable/value-oriented?

Maybe the answer's more training w/ the IWB?

Your thoughts?

I can't help, I just wanted to join the question bandwagon. I know I want at least two holsters for the XD. A good shoulder rig is definitely in the plans, but finding one that fits the XD hasn't been fun as I'm just not sure and there aren't many specificly for the XD tactical I have found. It would be great to get a solid review of one or several.

At this point, all I have is the holster that came in the kit. That makes you one up on me. I am not sure that is one I would want, though I am curious how you wear it (where), whether you can also carry a clip or two with it, and what size you are so as to get a better idea of the system. I'm a bit large on all counts, but that isn't always a plus for fit or conceal.

I have a Galco shoulder rig that is pretty good. I'm carrying a XD Compact in it, but I don't see why you would not be able to use a tactical in it.

All that you can depend on from a 45 is that it will drill a .45 - .70 inch hole about 14 inches into someone. There will not be "energy dump", people will not fly backwards, and they will not necessarily fall as if they have been struck by lighting.

Kinda posting in 2 places on this. The Galco Miami Classic gives the same part number for all three barrel lengths. The Tac muzzle just sticks out a bit farther. I just ordered one for this reason - should work for all three barrel lengths.

Galco has a new holster system out that is available for the XD45. It provides both shoulder and belt.

rgeliske,

Gee, I liked that. However, they do not yet make it for the XD tactical. I wrote an email to check with them, and they sent me a link so that I could "show them interest" in that rig for the XD tactical. I did so.

I would suggest anyone intersted in this rig to do so as well. This is where you get the information about the shoulder (and belt) holster, then go here to fill out their request for production.

This is a fantastic looking and seeming shoulder harness. It is cant adjustable, eminantly concealable, while the holster (leather) can be wholly, quickly, and easily removed from the system, and it has attachments (that come with it, not add-ons) which allow it to also be worn on the belt (outside I'm sure). The belt holster also has an adjustable cant! For $79.95 plus s&h it's a steal.

I may go with their Miami shoulder holster for now, but if this comes out, I'm pretty sure I will go with it. Sorry about the "infomercial". I hope it is useful.

Thanks for the link I didn't know they had a request form.

Hi Doomd,

I'm pretty small (5' 7", 145 lbs) and wear the Crossbreed IWB at my 4:00 position on my waist.

Don't have any spare mags with it, though - I figure if 13 rounds aren't going to do the job, I probably should not have been in the fight.

Try http://www.haugenhandgunleather.com

Jerry does absolutely great work at a awesome price. I've purchased four rigs from him for my XD .45 service and FN 5.7.

Thanks Rube. I like the shoulder holster with option of the US stamp and the Navy symbol on it too. It's been a bit, but my alma mater is with me deep. Though I went clean (no toos), I've got those stamps inside.
