.45, Earthy, Faithful & Often Loaded
Just picked-up my new Dark Earth XD .45cal Service from Shooters Supply in Loveland, and I cannot wait to shoot it. I have never handled a .45 before, and I probably jumped-the-gun by purchasing one without previous experience, but I knew my itch had to be scratched. The Dark Earth was growing on me with each passing day, and I knew I wanted to experience a .45 at some time, so I made an impulsive move. If you live in the Dayton, Cincinnati or Covington area, I highly recommend this place for your next handgun purchase. I have never met a friendlier bunch of people when visiting a gun shop. The closest to my experience were the people at Olde English Gun Shoppe, but Shooters Supply set the bar higher. I thank you Gunzzi for telling me about them in January. Anyway, I am now an XD twofer owner (9mm & .45) and know that my new pistol will offer the reliability that my old(er) XD has provided. Just don't tell the wife. Shhhhhhhhhhhh....
Forgot to mention that I ordered my gun Monday afternoon and received a call the next day, on Tuesday, to say it was ready to be picked-up. Plus, their pricing was the most competitive that I'd found. Last edited by PossumTaters; 05-09-2007 at 03:47 PM. |

You'll love the .45 - recoil is more of a push than the mild snap of a 9mm.
I find .40s&w to be the least pleasing as far as recoil goes - very snappy and harder on follow-up target aquisition. Congrats.

I dont own 9mm and .40 XDs but not a .45XD. I do however own a couple of 1911's and the .45 is a very versatile round. I think you will be pleased with it.
