XD 45 acp compact - Any complaints?

I have a chance to trade my XD 45 Service for an Xd 45 Service compact. I love my full sized service model and yet I think I may love the compact model more My hands fit the compact model just as well so that is not an issue. Has anyone had any issues with the extended mags. I have read some other posts where people actually prefer the 10 round magazines over the 13's. Why? What about availability of additional extended mags since the kit comes with one of each?

Thanks for your input

No complaints at all. I like the Compact and just bought the Compact Tactical and it's been great too. I bought some extra mags with the spacer from pistolgear.com, so no problem getting extra mags. Besides you can use the regular 13rnd mags with the compacts without the spacer, I didn't have any problems at all using them without the spacer.

I really like the feel of the 10rnd mags too, just fits my hand and if you are going to carry at all, get the Compact model for sure.

Funny, I traded my .40 sub compact for a 4" service model. Go for it, you should go with what "fits" and is comfortable to you.

I wish I could say the same. I tried one at the gun store the other day, and my little finger hangs over the 10 round mag. If I put on the 13 rounder, I might as well carry my 5" tactical.

I have the same problem w/ the 10rd. I practice with the 10 rd enough so that I am comfortable with it, however, for fun or typical range work I use the extended mag. However, I carry with the 10 rd mag and a 13 rd as a backup mag and that extra 3/4" makes a huge difference with printing for me. I like having the "2 guns in one" availability.

Do they make Pierce grips for the XD45 Compact? I've never seen them.

Secondly, going from XD Service to Compact should be no problem. I personally perfer the "feel" of the 357/40/9mm model in my hand, but nothing beats the hole a 45 leaves...
