I've just started looking at the XD 45. Getting hooked on action shooting pins and probably ipsc. I've 1911 colt and used it for years for plinking. I've G26 for chl and like the poylimer vs steel. Stopped at Sportsmans Warehouse to look at competition options. They had an XD 45 that was setup for competition. larger mag relase, adjustable sights, etc.. Been browsing the web and Springfield but don't see options like at the store.

I'm confused, were these options in the tactical? Were these options from Springfield's custom shop. Is the tactical out of the box a competition gun?

springfield does do custom competition jobs, it's on their site (http://www.springfield-armory.com/custom.php), I guess you missed it or what they offer is different from what you saw. They do trigger jobs, sights, match barrels, all of that stuff for any gun; so go with the tactical. None of them are match grade out of the box. But, you can modify them to be so, for less money than some factory match grade guns by other makers.
