First FTF
I had my first failure to feed yesterday. My wife was finishing a magazine (ca 10 rounder) out of my .45 Tac. and the last round stopped just short of the slide slamming shut. About a quarter of an inch of the brass showed on the round. It was at about the 100 round mark and I fired about 50 more through it before packing up. The gun has between 1200-1500 rounds through it if I had to guess. I held the bullet next to a new one and it seemed to match, but I don't know what would have caused this. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

One Feed issues in 1,500 rounds? Could be a fluke, could be the grip, could be a bad round, could be the springs getting worn, could be.. could be.. could be..
One feed issue is a little hard to troubleshoot.

If it was mine, I would strip it down, clean it well, check for any unusual wear or damaged parts and if I didn't see any, keep shooting unless/until it happened again. The reason we practice failure drills is because it can and does happen to even the best made and best maintained firearms for various reasons. The fact that you shot 50 more rds without problem leads me to think it was an isolated incident caused, as Jeff said, by any number of things.
